Overview
BTI Biotechnology Institute is a Spanish biotechnology company based in Vitoria-Gasteiz, in the Basque Country. Founded in 1999 by Dr. Eduardo Anitua, an internationally recognised pioneer in tissue regeneration and the author of the Endoret® PRGF technology. Dr. Anitua remains BTI's Scientific Director and additionally leads the University Institute of Regenerative Medicine and Oral Implantology at the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU).
The Endoret® technology has been in clinical development since 1995, when the first intraosseous application of plasma rich in growth factors was reported for the regeneration of an infected bone-and-soft-tissue defect after tooth extraction. Three decades of continuous research and clinical refinement have produced an evidence base now spanning more than 500 peer-reviewed publications across orthopaedics, sports medicine, oral surgery, dermatology, ophthalmology, and reproductive medicine.
Technology focus
PRGF (Plasma Rich in Growth Factors) differs from generic platelet-rich plasma by standardised preparation protocol and characterisation. The same single blood draw produces three product formats, each matched to a different clinical use.
Liquid Endoret® PRGF for infiltration and injection. The typical preparation for orthopaedic tendinopathy, joint OA infiltration, and dermatological mesotherapy.
Endoret® PRGF clot scaffold for surgical defect filling. A retractable autologous matrix used in dental implantology, maxillofacial reconstruction, and bone-and-soft-tissue regeneration.
Endoret® PRGF fibrin membrane for tissue augmentation. A flexible autologous membrane used for periosteal coverage, wound closure, and soft-tissue grafting.
The biological effects across all three formats are well-characterised: reduced pain and inflammation, accelerated tissue healing, controlled release of platelet-derived growth factors over the healing window.

Clinical evidence
More than 500 peer-reviewed publications across orthopaedics, sports medicine, maxillofacial surgery, and ophthalmology, spanning 25+ years of PRGF research.
GESY in Cyprus
Endoret® PRGF is not GESY-reimbursable in Cyprus. Regenerative medicine sits in the private-care tier in the Cypriot system. GESY covers standard orthopaedic and surgical procedures, while biologics, growth factor preparations, and other regenerative therapies are paid for privately.
Treatment with Endoret® PRGF is delivered through private clinics on a self-pay basis. The pricing point is decided by the treating physician.
Partnership with OrganoGEN
OrganoGEN is the authorized BTI distributor in Cyprus. Our positioning is direct. PRGF is not PRP. The Endoret® preparation protocol and the 500-publication evidence base are the substance behind the differentiation, and they are what we lead with in surgeon and clinician education.
Endoret® PRGF sits inside OrganoGEN's private regenerative bundle alongside Marrow Cellution® BMAC (Aspire), Tulip® Nanofat, and Vivostat® PRF. Combined biologic protocols (PRGF with BMAC, PRGF with Nanofat, PRGF with fibrin scaffold) are the natural cross-sell to clinicians treating tendinopathy, sports injury, post-surgical recovery, and joint OA in the private tier.
